As informed earlier, moderate rainfall occurred for a few hours during the morning in the southern catchment of the Jhelum Basin. Consequently, a marginal rise has been observed in the water level at Sangam. The water level at Sangam is expected to begin receding during the coming hours. Accordingly, a marginal increase in the water level at Ram Munshibagh (Srinagar) is expected during the night. Further downstream, including at Asham and Wular Lake, water levels are also expected to rise gradually as the runoff propagates through the river system.
